Hello!
It's time to first memories of Poland :)

My Comenius days in Poland ( 19.09.13-23.09.13)
by Meike Pfeiffer

After the long trip from Amberg to Warsaw we were heartily welcomed by our Polish hosts. We were so impressed of the politeness of the Polish students. Then we went home to our host families and had a typical Polish meal. The next morning we went to school where we met all the other Comenius students.
We had some really interesting presentations about famous and controversial people. After a short break we watched a movie about Poland, which was extremely informative and easy to understand. There we got to know the typical Polish dance Poloneze, which the Polish physical education teacher taught us. After some typical specialities as lunch the Polish students showed us the amazing old town of Warschau. We all loved the atmosphere and the sights of Warsaw. After a short dinner we went to a nice pub all together to relax a little bit. The following day we had to get up early to go to Gdansk by bus. When we arrived at the beautiful town of Gdansk a friendly tour guide showed it to us. We visited a nice museum, saw the old town and the great church in the middle of the city. In the evening we had fun in the hostel all together that was a great chance to become friends with all the other Comenius students. The next day we travelled to Sobot where we visited the largest wooden pier. We also spent some time at the amazing beach of Sobot. Later we went home and enjoyed the evening with our host families. At 5:30 am our train left from Warsaw to Amberg, so we got home very tired. Thank you very very much for the opportunity to stay a few days in Poland and to learn so much about Poland and get to know so nice Polish gentlemen.

My Comenius days in Poland, Miriam Patt

13 hours of travelling were laying behind us when we reached Warsaw in the evening on Thursday the 20.09.13, but we directly forgot all the stress after we had been given such a warm and hearty welcome by our hast families.
4 days in Poland, full of unforgettable impressions with Polish history, culture and people.
A relaxed evening with our exchange partners in a nice little pub called Buffalo Club rounded off our first day. There we also met other participants of our Comenius Project.
The next morning we visited the school where every nation, which was present, showed us an informative presentation about their famous and controversial people and we learned a lot about the past of Poland and Polish culture in a very well prepared history lesson.
In addition to that a sport teacher taught us the traditional Polish dance  polonaise, which made a lot of fun. In the afternoon we got time to visit Warsaw’s most important monuments with our exchange partners and after that we went into another café with all the pupils from the Comenius Project.
The following day we had to get up early to travel to the wonderful Gdank by bus, which gave us a great possibility to see more of the magnificent landscape of Poland. In Gdank a city guide gave us an understanding of the Polish way to freedom and showed us parts of the beautiful Gdansk, for example the incrediblly great church. We spent the night in a nice hostel near the centre of the city, where we got to know the other students much better.
At 10 am we left Gdansk in the direction of Sobot, where we saw the very nice pier, which is also the longest wodden pier all over the world.
Unfortunately we had to leave Poland early in the following morning. It was really sad for all of us, because we wished we had much more time to see more of this beautiful country and get to know more of those unbelievable courteous people, but we hope to see each other again soon!
Thank you for these great experiences and to my host family !!!

MY COMENIUS DAYS IN POLAND/WARSAW
By Anna-Lena Kraus

On Thursday the 19th of September our trip to Poland began. We, 5 German girls, woke up early to start our long way to Poland. After 13 hours on the train we finally arrived at Warsaw and we were all welcomed very friendly and hospitable by our exchange partners. The host of mine and of another German girl was Filip and I couldn't imagine a better host family! After dinner with Filip and his parents we spent our first evening with some other participants of the Comenius project in a bar. On the next day we were welcomed in the school and the film projects of every country were shown. After the program in the school we were able to try some Polish specialities which the Polish students prepared for us. Everything tasted very delicious and so we started a tour through the centre of Warsaw, where the Polish students showed us some important and interesting places of the big city. After that almost all participants of the Comenius project went together in  a bar again to enjoy the evening. On Saturday we went by bus to the beautiful city Dansk. After dinner we started the day in Dansk with a guided visit in an interesting museum and a walk through the city. In the afternoon we had some free time to go shopping :)
After a funny night in the hostel we went by bus to the breathtaking city Sobot which is located at the sea and has a wonderful sandy beach and the longest wooden pier of the world. After a walk on the pier we had some free time to enjoy our time in Sobot. After a long trip by bus we arrived back to Warsaw. On Monday the 23rd of september our great time in Poland ended and we started the long way back to Amberg in Germany. Thank you to everyone who was part of our visit in Warsaw for these great memories I got !

My Comenius day, Katharina Knab

My Cormenius days in Poland were very interesting and great. The long journey was hard, but this was forgotten after the first meeting at the train station, because the exchange partners were very polite and friendly. They welcomed us in such a fantastic way, for example they gave us flowers and carried our heavy bags, like real gentlemen. All of us really liked it much. The first evening we got very tasty food. It was different from German food, but I enjoyed it! The next morning we learned something about their culture and their school system. The presentation we've seen about their way to freedom was so interesting. On Saturday we drove to Dansk with our exchange partners to stay one night in a hostel. It was a great chance to get to know each other better. The guide presented us the history of this city in such a lively way, we all found it very interesting. The next morning we left this fantastic city and visited Sobot. This is another amazing city. But I'm sad, because we don't have so much time to see more of this fantastic city. We all spent the last evening with our exchange partners, because Monday morning we went home again. The time in Poland was so great, we get to know interesting things about their history and their culture. I got some new experiences and I'm looking forward to visiting this friendly host family again.
