Hi all,

the first set of compositions about the meeting in Hungary has already arrived.
Read and enjoy what the Spanish students have to say about their stay in Szeged.

My experience in Hungary
by Sara Aminiyan Llopis

This project, Comenius has been a good experience to improve my English, meet new people from other countries, like Estonian or Poland and visit a beautiful place where I have been these days, Hungary. There people are very sympathetic, maybe its mood is a bit different like in Spain but I was really comfortable with them, especially with my Hungarian host, Orsi.
She and her family offered me all that I needed to enjoy and eat while I was living with them,
at home.
On the one hand, I visited really important and interesting places, almost in Budapest. I have been in Parliament, I was surprised because it is really big and luxurious; we have been in a Museum, it is called The House of terror where I learned a bit more about one of the most important events that happened in the history of mankind, the Second Mundial War, an event that affected so much to Hungarian’s people. Also we made tourism around the town where is Orsi’s school, in Szeged. There we visited some important buildings and entertainment places.
On the other hand, apart from tourism and didactic things, I spent some of my time while I have being there with friends that I met there, students from Hungary and other countries too. At night we have been in a pubs and discos from Szeged and I have been enjoined a lot with everybody who I met at school. I think that this is the best way to know people and make friendship because we are more relaxed and free.
In conclusion, I’m really happy and proud to have been part of this excellent project because I could met new people and visited one country where I have never been.
I leave here one of my favourite photos with my Hungarian host, Orsi in Szeged.

HUNGARY
by Alex Copetudo

Last 20th March I and three more students travelled to Hungary. The trip was a little bit weary because we had two hours to Amsterdam, two other hours to Budapest and finally two and half hours by car between Budapest and Szeged. When I met my host in his school he was with his parents and his little brother. First we went to
a supermarket and after that, they took me to their home, a lonely but friendly farm.
All the days I had to wake up very early in the morning because we had to go to the nearest bus stop and then we had thirty minutes by bus to the school.
The first day we visited Szeged’s most important buildings and after that we showed our video about F.C. Barcelona and the censorship to the other Comenius students and we saw their videos. After that, we assisted at two classes, we could taste Hungarian desserts, and they showed us a typical Hungarian song and dance.
The following days we went to a First World War’s museum, where there was a real tank; to Budapest’s Parliament, that was in the riverside of the Danube; to Buda Castle and to the central place of Budapest, where there were a big obelisk and some Greek style buildings
Szeged is a very wonderful city, everywhere you go you will find churches, schools and bakeries.  All the streets were very clean and the people were very polite.
Last year a German boy came to my house, but this has been my first exchange trip to another country.
It has been a very exiting experience, I have enjoyed a lot, and it has helped me to practice English, know another culture and meet new friends.

A Hungarian experience
by Victor Alvarez

Last Monday, I arrived to Vilassar de Mar after spending some beautiful days in Hungary, where all the things went fantastically.
Few months ago, this travelling chance came to me and
I felt very excited, I knew I was going to profit it. However,
I felt worried due to this trip would be the first one without my parents.
At the beginning of the trip I was very nervous, I didn’t know if I would go through this experience without troubles, I didn’t know if I would know enough English to survive with my host family… Anyway, when I arrived to Szeged, where my partner was waiting for me, and I saw him, all my nerves went away. He and his family were very kind and they made me feel like a king at home. Moreover, all the people I met in Hungary were very friendly and I didn’t have any trouble with anyone.
The places we went and the visiting plan we followed were very nice as well. I could visit Budapest, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, in my opinion. Besides,
I learned things about a different culture, I tasted traditional dishes of Hungary, I worked on my English and I realized
I can survive with it wherever I go.
To sum up, it was an important, profitable and enjoyable experience I would like to repeat in the future
if it’s possible, it will be nice to see my Hungarian friend and his family again.

After travelling thousands of miles during a short period of time I arrived at home completely tired and exhausted. I look back and I can realise  all the experiences that I had recently in another country.  Meeting people from other countries is always fascinating and rewarding, but if you have the opportunity of visiting another country and having a host of your same age it just makes get into another level. Your experience and your point of view change completely from a place, living with them and becoming part of their lives is priceless.  As a result of being in such a close contact with the local people, I learned about the traditions, the way of life, local history and attitudes, the local food, values, norms, mores, folkways, and taboos; laws, technology and artefacts.
Thanks to my Hungarian friend gave me a clearer idea about the region I was living in. It was such a great pleasure to witness similarities as well as differences between the host country and my own home country. It’s incredible how a short time of your life can became in such  a heavy part of your life,  I was amused with my new Hungarian friend and his family and friends attitude. There aren’t words for describing how I felt once I arrived to a stranger house and just  after a few days later  I left that place calling it “my Hungarian home”. My host shared every single part of his life with me, a stranger, I was shocked with their hospitality and friendliness that showed to me.
Regarding to other students that participated in the Comenius project
I spent good time with them and made a lot of friends. It was just if I was travelling at their countries while I was talking to them.
In conclusion, I’m very pleased of participating in this project and I would recommend to everybody to live this experience of a Comenius project because it produces such a big change on your life.
