Germans memories from Hungary

Hi,
today I'm publishing the German students' compositions about their trip to Szeged in Hungary.
Enjoy :)

Comenius: My week in Hungary
Our trip started at the 20th of March at 7 a.m. at the station in our town. At first we took the train to Regensburg and then to Vienna. At last to Budapest. We spend a lot of time on the train. In Budapest a bus was waiting for us to go to Szeged where our exchange partners waited. We were all very excited and wondered how the week would be!
On our first day all the countries were welcomed by the principal. After that we started with our program. At first we had to do some geo-caching through Szeged and had to answer many questions about the different places where we had to go! Later we were in the classes of our exchange partners and saw how the lessons were. There are many differences between German lessons and Hungarian. After that we had presentations and in the break we could taste many traditional Hungarian desserts. We also got the chance to dance the traditional Hungarian dances, these were great experiences and we all got to know each other better.
The next day we went to Budapest, where we visited many places for example the Buda place, the parliament of Hungary and a museum, which was really interesting. The museum had a special name. The name of it was: The house of terror. We learned there many interesting things about the history of Hungary. All in all we were all very shocked because we haven't never heard of these things before. The museum was quite big and each room was furnished individually. It seemed that every room was for a new situation or new theme.
The whole Sunday was free. So we decided to go to the important water gate of Szeged, because it was the special water day of Hungary. Later we went shopping. It was really funny, but unfortunately we had not enough time for it, because our exchange partners planned something for us. Surprisingly we were in a bowling place with all other countries. We had so much fun there:) In the evening we decided to go for a walk in Szeged, because it was our last day in Hungary. The city at night is more beautiful than during the day.
On Monday morning we had to say goodbye to our host families and exchange partners, it was a really sad moment, because we became very good friends in this short time, but we all decided to come together another time! All in all I really enjoyed the trip to Hungary, it was a great experience, which I will never forget. Thanks for this great time.

My Comenius days in Hungary
On Thursday, we got by train from Amberg to Regensburg, then to Wien and from there to Budapest. At last from Budapest to Szeged. During the train ride, all Germans were very exciting. We looked forward to a great weekend in Hungary. In the evening, our host families took us from the bus to their homes and we had dinner.
On Friday, we all met again at school and had a quiz about the city, which we had to solve by going around the city and collecting the information we need. After that, everyone went with his exchange partner in class and had two lessons. Then, we had lunch and the project presentations, after a little break we learned Hungarian dances and in the evening, all German students met again with their partners in a coffee bar.
On Saturday, we left Szeged early, because we went on a 2-hour-trip to Budapest. There, we had a guided tour in the House of Terror, where we learned a lot about Hungary in the second world war. After lunch, we had a guided tour in the parliament and visited a tower in Budapest.
Sunday was a day which we spend with our host families, but anyway, all Germans were together and visited with their exchange partners a tower in Szeged and later, we went shopping. We also met again in the evening and had a lot of fun together.
When we had to leave Hungary and our host families, on Monday, we were all sad about that goodbye, but it was a great time, we will never forget.

My Comenius days in Hungary

On the 20th of March we started our trip in Amberg where we went by train to Budapest. And then from Budapest to Szeged by bus. Although it was a very long journey I liked it very much, because we had a lot of fun together and we were looking forward to a great weekend in Hungary.
In the evening, our host families picked us up at the school and we spent the evening in the host families. On Friday we all met again at school and did a ralley in town, where we had to answer some difficult questions while going around the city and collecting the information we need. We had to do this in little groups with our teacher and one of the Hungarians. After that, everyone went with his exchange partner in class and had two lessons. After  school  we had lunch and watched the project videos. On Saturday, we left Szeged early, because we went on a to Budapest. There, we had a guided tour in the House of Terror, where we learned a lot about Hungary.  After lunch, we had a second  guided tour in the parliament and visited the city of Budapest. On Sunday we spent much  time with our host families, but also with the other Germans. On Monday morning we had to leave wonderful Hungary. It was a nice time we never will forget.

Our trip to Hungary

…was very long. We travelled about 10 hours until we reached Szeged. Szeged is known as the city of sunshine. We were pretty lucky that the weather was  really good and sunny. My host family was very friendly and nice, I felt really comfortable there. The first day began quite early, because school started for our exchange partners really early. But it was worth, because we did a scavenger hunt through Szeged. My highlight of Szeged was the river “Theiß “, because the sun reflected on top of the river and it was really beautiful! After our tour through Szeged, we spent time with our exchange partners in their lessons. After their class and lunch, we assembled for the presentation and project “Our way to freedom”. The Hungarians invited us for a little “tea party” and we also learned how to dance traditional Hungarian dances. The second day we went to Budapest. Budapest is the capital city of Hungary.  We visited there the House of Terror, where we could see and follow the way to freedom of Hungary.  Our next visit was the Parliament of Hungary, it was really huge and beautiful. Inside the Parliament, it was like a castle. Furthermore  we could see the differences between the “Bundestag” and their Parliament. Their Parliament was still original. The next stop in Budapest was the “Buda Castle” and this was my personal highlight of our trip to Budapest. Because this castle was really impressive! It was really huge and on the  top of the castle we had a beautiful sight of the city. But the atmosphere of the castle was really calming and comfortable. On the next day we could spend our time with our exchange partners. Our partners showed us the “Water Tower” of Szeged, it also had a really nice sight of the city. After that we went shopping in the Arcade and then we went bowling with the other Comenius members.
The result of my trip to Hungary was really positive.
